Dear Graduate,
Registration for Sacramento State’s 2019 Commencement ceremonies is now available. The deadline to register and claim your Commencement guest tickets is Thursday, April 4. You may obtain up to eight tickets for your guests; participating graduates do not need tickets. Children under age 3 who will sit on a guardian’s lap during the ceremony also do not require a ticket.
A step-by-step guide is available for the process of claiming guest tickets. Even if you do not plan to attend your Commencement ceremony, please log in to the ticketing website and select “no” when asked, “Are you attending the ceremony?” This will help the Commencement team plan for extra tickets and the acceptance of requests to participate.
You may exchange tickets only with peers who are participating in the same ceremony. Each ceremony has its own specific ticket. Guests cannot use a ticket for one college’s ceremony to enter a different college’s ceremony.
Please note that tickets may not be sold or traded for anything of monetary value. Students can email their tickets to their guests or print them through the ticketing website. At this time, we are not able to offer extra tickets. If extra tickets become available, we will post information after April 24 on the Commencement website’s Tickets Page about the process.
If you have updated or added a preferred name to your student record that you want reflected during the Commencement ceremony, you must log back in to the Commencement tickets system to confirm that your change has been reflected. If you do not log back in, your name change will not be updated in the Commencement system.
We are happy to see students taking pictures on campus and along the river to commemorate graduation, but we ask that you do not use any props, glitter, or paper or plastic confetti during the photos. Confetti and glitter that are left behind become trash in the river and are damaging to the wildlife that digest them. As stewards and neighbors of the American River, we ask that you please be thoughtful of our environment as you take photos.
We encourage you to click here to learn about transportation options provided by Sacramento Regional Transit for getting to and from Golden 1 Center. Graduates and their guests can book and pre-pay for parking spots near the center through the SacPark website. Simply browse for your scheduled event date and time, select your preferred parking lot or garage, and pay online to reserve your spot. Select area hotels, including the Kimpton Sawyer, Embassy Suites, and more, are offering discounts to our Commencement guests. Visit the Commencement Hotels page for additional details and instructions on how to book.
Additional information is available on the Commencement website. We look forward to seeing you at Golden 1.
Stingers Up!
